Anne was born and educated in Cheshire where she studied at Stockport College of Art and began her career as freelance illustrator gaining a wide reputation as a figurative and fashion artist. Amongst her artistic influences has been Gauguin with his exotic use of colour, Monet and Cezanne for elegance of the ordinary and Sorolla for light and shape.

During this time Anne worked and lived in Spain, Paris, Munich and Los Angeles eventually forming an interior design partnership and moving to St Ives. Then, after some time in Sussex Anne moved to Ireland in 1996 and concentrated on fine art painting. In 2003 she was invited to represent Ireland as one of six artists at the Florence Biennial and also had six of her designs chosen by Irish Stamps for their Europa and Comhaltas Ceoltori Eireann editions. In 2008 she was chosen as professional artist of the year by the SAA for a painting ‘The Galway Juggler’.

Anne is now living in Devon and her work now is largely influenced by the West Country, reflections, beaches, both here and in Brittany, and her memories.
