Ian is a member of the Westcountry Potters’ Association. Each piece of his work is unique and individually hand made in his studio using a variety of different types of smooth and coarse textured clay. His vessels are often impressed with different materials to create a variety of surface textures and designs and are decorated with different combinations of glazes and metallic oxides. Ian’s ideas come from a variety of sources, ranging from organic objects in the natural world to man made artefacts, such as derelict industrial machinery.
