Dave Regester has been a professional wood turner since 1974 making one-off pieces and production kitchenware. His utilitarian pieces are sold by specialist shops mainly in London, with his one-offs sold in galleries and at exhibitions. He uses English hardwoods such as ash, oak and yew because of the beauty of the grain and also because temperate hardwoods can be harvested without damaging the environment.
