Carol was born and lived in London until 1986 when she bought a smallholding near Helston. While renovating the dilapidated buildings she started to raise cattle and make pottery, self taught from remembered evening classes in London. In 1990 she bought an ancient kiln, still working. Carol has recently changed from red grogged to white smooth clay which better enhances her coloured slip decoration. Carol’s decorative influences come from all around her on the farm, countryside and coast.
