Robert was born in a coal mining community in the Midlands and attended Nuneaton
College of Art an interest in ceramics took him to Stoke on Trent. In 1967 he joined the Warwickshire Police and became a member of the Murder Incident Room Team becoming a Forensic Artist. All through this career he exhibited ceramics in the Midlands and London before moving to St Ives in 1997.
